Parasol unit produced this limited edition on the occasion of the group exhibition The Gap, Selected Abstract Art from Belgium, curated by Luc Tuymans for Parasol unit, London, 9 September - 6 December 2015. The edition is a smaller reproduction of Stappaerts' Polarisation painting featured in the exhibition. Having developed a computer programme that can mathematically construct colour transitions in polarisation format, Stappaerts abstracts the political and sociological systems of everyday life into colour guides and labels, to then position them in a structural time-frame.
